The New Canon imagePROGRAF GP-2600S: Now Available!

The new Canon GP-2600S is here, and Midwest Inkjet is now taking orders! The newest addition to Canon's imagePROGRAF GP S Series, the GP-2600S brings the same proven 7-color print system found in the larger 44-inch GP-4600S and 60-inch GP-6600S to a compact 24-inch footprint and a more accessible price point. The GP S Series is Canon's line built specifically for high-speed graphics and poster output, and the GP-2600S puts that capability within reach of shops that don't need, or have the floor space for, a wide-format machine.

Built as a proofing and poster printer, the Canon imagePROGRAF GP-2600S runs Canon's LUCIA PRO II pigment ink set across seven colors, including grey and orange, to reach 96% coverage of the PANTONE FORMULA GUIDE Solid Coated library. Brand colors, corporate palettes, and product advertising reproduce accurately, print after print. LUCIA PRO II also delivers excellent lightfastness: prints are rated to last up to 200 years on Canon Heavyweight Coated Paper HG, and a wax component in the ink improves scratch resistance on glossy and semi-glossy media, so finished work holds up through post-processing, display, and packaging.

The GP-2600S is built to keep moving. An automatic media loading system detects media type, width, and length with built-in sensors, so an operator simply feeds the paper and lets the printer handle the rest. Canon's hot-swap ink system uses a sub-ink tank that lets you replace ink tanks mid-job, without stopping the run — keeping downtime down and throughput up.

For sign shops, in-house print and design departments, and print-for-pay businesses, the GP-2600S is a practical way to bring production-grade color in-house without committing to a 44-inch or 60-inch machine.
