Midwest Inkjet Now Offers Canon Financial Leasing on Canon PRO and GP Series Printers

Midwest Inkjet is excited to announce that we have partnered with Canon Financial Services to offer leasing on the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO and GP series of large format printers. For shops that need professional Canon equipment but would rather not tie up capital in an outright purchase, leasing is now a straightforward option — and it comes directly through the same team you already work with for equipment, ink, and media.

When you lease, you'll choose between two structures: a Fair Market Value (FMV) lease or a $1 buyout lease. The difference comes down to monthly payment, end-of-term options, and whether you want to own the printer in the end.

A Fair Market Value lease has the lower monthly payment. At the end of the term, you have options: return the printer, renew the lease, or buy the printer for its fair market value at that time. It works like leasing a vehicle — you pay less each month, you stay flexible, and you're not committed to owning the equipment. An FMV lease is a good fit for shops that like to upgrade to newer equipment every few years, or that simply want the lowest possible payment and the option to walk away at the end of the term.

A $1 buyout lease has a higher monthly payment, but at the end of the term you purchase the printer for one dollar and own it outright. It works like financing a purchase — you're paying toward ownership the whole way through. A $1 buyout makes sense for shops that know they'll run the printer for its full useful life and want to own the asset at the end rather than hand it back.

Put simply: FMV keeps your payment low and your options open; the $1 buyout costs more each month but you own the printer at the end. Which one is right depends on how long you plan to keep the equipment, what monthly payment you're comfortable with, and how your business handles equipment on its books. Lease structure also carries tax and accounting implications that vary by business, so it's worth a conversation with your accountant before you decide — they can tell you how each option would actually look for your operation.
